Finding The Right Group To Share Rides

July 10, 2011 |

There are several co-workers that live in the same area as you live. Recently, due to the economy, the price of gasoline has become unreasonable. Everyone is looking for ways to save money, so why not share a ride. Most cars can fit 4 to 5 people, that means, the gas could be split 4 or 5 ways. The best way to work this out would be to take week by week. Everyone gets together and decides who will take the first week, and so forth. Say there are four co-workers wanting to share a ride, that would mean that every fourth week it would be your turn to drive.Check out this link here. The cycle would rotate over and over. If taking week by week is chosen, you wouldn’t really even need to split gas money. The person driving that week could by all the gas. That would leave 3 weeks that that person would not have to buy any gas at all. Driving once every couple of weeks could save that person anywhere between 50 to 100 depending on the mileage to and from work and how big that the gas tank is on their car. The cost of gas can get to be outrageous and car pooling would save so much money. The down side to car pooling would be that you could not miss a day during the week that it is your turn to drive, unless you can work out some kind of deal with another driver. You may be able to switch a day during another drivers week. You will need to work out a time schedule so that you have enough time to pick everyone up and make it to work on time. You should actually schedule enough time that you make it to work with time to spare.
