CDTC's Guaranteed Ride Home Program

What Is Guaranteed Ride Home?

Guaranteed ride home (GRH) programs work as a "safety net" to take the worry out of ridesharing. Many people are reluctant to switch their commute mode from single occupant vehicle to carpooling, taking the bus, bicycling or walking because they are afraid of being "stuck" if an emergency arises or if they have to work late. Guaranteed Ride Home  takes the worry out of ridesharing because it guarantees you a taxi ride home under these situations.

Employees who use some alternative mode of transportation to get to and from work, other than driving alone, such as carpooling, riding a non-CDTA bus, walking or bicycling, three or more times per week (on average) are eligible for free taxi rides home under CDTC's guaranteed ride home program. Persons who are eligible for GRH privileges under CDTA's Swiper pass program are not eligible for reimbursement under CDTC's GRH program.

There are two ways that you can register for the GRH Program.  Your employer can register everyone in the organization that meets the GRH eligibility rules or you can register as an individual.
